Got an event idea? Maybe you want to set yourself a fitness challenge or set up a bake sale. There are many fun activities that can raise funds to help pets!  

Community fundraising is simply creating an event or activity that you find fun, suits your lifestyle or creates a challenge and getting friends and family involved to help raise funds.

Popular ways to fundraise include:

Events

Host a morning tea or bake sale, complete with homemade doggy treats. Hold your own fundraising dog show or quiz night at a community hall.

Miranda’s Amazing Eggs

12-year-old Miranda loves animals, volunteers at Bundoora Farm, has six rescue hens and has raised over $400 to help rescue pets by donating all proceeds from the sale of her lovely eggs to PetRescue.

 

Sienna’s Home-baked Doggy Treats

Superstar Sienna raised funds to help rescue pets by baking and selling doggy treats (5 treats for $2) and smashed her $200 fundraising target.

 

Personal challenge

Take the opportunity to challenge yourself. Get in shape. Beat your PB. Run a long-distance… but if sweat ain’t your style perhaps abstaining could be even a tougher challenge! A month without chocolate? Coffee or another ‘couldn’t do without’ item. Good luck!!
 

School fundraiser

Create some fun in the classroom while helping pets. Non-uniform days and fancy dress are popular with other great ideas being a fete stall or fun run. A movie night with a classic pet movie or even a gaming tournament.

Tip: Pull together a small group of ‘doers’ to help you bring event elements together and share expertise. 

The students at the Education Support Centre at Leeming Senior High School came up with an idea to make and sell dog treats and aprons at the school’s Market Day, and donate a portion of their proceeds to PetRescue!
