The PetRescue team visits Leeming Senior High School
Our Managing Director Pats often visits schools and workplaces, and recently, her and very good rescue doggo Tia visited the amazing staff and students at the Education Support Centre at Leeming Senior High School. During this visit, she chatted about all things rescue pets and the current state of the animal welfare sector in Australia.
As part of their business studies class, equipping them for independence when graduating school, the students came up with an idea to make and sell dog treats and aprons at the school’s Market Day, and donate a portion of their proceeds to PetRescue! We are so grateful for their generous donation, and for having us visit. Our PetRescue team doggos would also like to say thank you for their tasty doggy treats 💚
Here's what some of the students had to say about the visit:
''When Patima and Tia came to visit I was happy to see Tia and learn about all the animals. Hearing about them made me sad when she was talking about it. Tia was licking my shoes, I think Tia liked me! When she had finished talking we gave her a cheque for all the money we had raised and gave them some dog treats for Tia and all the dogs. Afterwards I got a photo with Tia. In the end everyone left but I stayed with Tia and Patima let me give her a treat. Tia gave me a kiss, I really liked her.'' - Ellie
"The visit changed my idea of rescue groups. I hope more people foster pets from them." - Tania
"When Patima and Tia came to visit I was nervous because of the rescue dog. After giving the dog a biscuit I was not nervous anymore." - Luka
We love getting out and about and speaking to folks from all walks of life about rescue pets, and our mission to create a future where every pet is safe, respected and loved. If you’re interested in organising a visit from PetRescue to your school or workplace (in person or virtually!), please get in touch with us at info@petrescue.org.au.
Happy doggos Mash and Zarla ready to enjoy their paw-some dog treats!
