How to support rescue groups during COVID-19
The best way to help out rescue groups during this time is to adopt their pets. However, if you aren’t in a position to adopt, you can support the rescue community and the 6000+ adoptable pets on PetRescue in other ways.
🖥 Virtually foster a pet
Tap into your social network and share a pet’s profile to help them get some attention! Get creative with your captions, highlight your pet’s best features and see how many followers you can convert into adopters!
💝Donate
Many rescue groups rely on events and community fundraising activities to provide for the pets in their care. With the impact of COVID-19 this isn’t possible at the moment and many are already struggling. You can help rescue groups care for their pets during this time by donating to them. Find a rescue to support on our Rescue Map, or use the donate button on their pet listings.
🙌 Register as a volunteer
Flex your skills and help some pets! Rescue groups are always looking for people to help with writing pet profiles, photography and marketing. If you’d like to register as a volunteer, drop us an email on info@petrescue.org.au with your location and availability and we’ll do our best to connect you with local rescue groups.
🐱Foster a pet
If you aren't in a position to adopt during this time, you can always look for a pet to foster. Most rescue groups are swamped with enquiries right now and are doing their best to reply as soon as possible. So don't get disheartened if you don't hear back immediately! Learn more about pet fostering and how you can find foster pets on PetRescue.
