Facebook fundraising

Facebook is a great easy way to quickly reach friends and engage them in a cause close to your heart (they probably already know what that is with all the doggos and cattos in your feed right?).

Many choose to start a Facebook fundraiser on their birthday or other milestone and encourage friends to donate in lieu of gifts. 

By simply creating and sharing your fundraiser you are up and running! Start your Facebook fundraiser here or follow these easy steps:

Go to the Fundraisers tab from the menu on your Facebook profile

• Select PetRescue as your nominated charity

• Set a goal of how much money you’d like to raise

• Choose an end date for your fundraiser

• Your fundraiser will auto-populate with some information about PetRescue’s work. You can change this or leave it as is.

• You can also change the image if you’d like to or you can leave the image as is.

• Click ‘Create’

Once you have set up your Facebook Fundraiser, your friends will receive a notification inviting them to support PetRescue in honour of your special day. 

You can also share your fundraiser on your Facebook feed and invite friends and family to donate to PetRescue.

At the conclusion of your fundraiser, donations will be sent to the Paypal Giving Fund and then transferred to PetRescue within 90 days.

Facebook doesn’t currently advise not-for-profits when people are running fundraisers for their benefit so we would love to hear from you. Please let us know via Facebook direct message so that we can say thank you!
