Looking at adorable pet photos is great, but nothing compares to watching your potential new best friend in action doing their favourite silly and playful things.
You’ll find some basic details about each pet (like their name and location) next to their video, and you can easily click through to their profile to find out even more about their special purr-sonality and the type of home they’re looking for.

A project to help find a home for every pet.
As of April 2023, 800,000 pets have been marked as adopted on PetRescue.com.au. The pandemic gave the rescue community an opportunity to unite thousands of pets waiting for homes with families. Pets listed on PetRescue reached an all-time low, and numbers in pet ownership soared.
But there are still many more pets that need help to find homes. The number of pets needing homes has almost returned to the pre-pandemic ‘normal’ due to numerous factors, including an increase in the overall pet population in Australia. More homes with more pets is a great thing - pets are good for our mental health and well-being!
The enquiries that we receive at PetRescue from pet owners needing help are not because they are changing their minds about keeping their ‘pandemic pet’.
Instead, the pandemic has brought numerous challenges, such as economic hardship, mental health struggles, and a housing crisis. Unfortunately, these challenges are not limited to humans - they are also impacting pets. As a result, more pet owners are finding it difficult to provide the care their pets need and are reluctantly considering rehoming them. To prevent this, we need to support pet owners to help them keep their pets during these tough times.
The system in place to help people and their pets is supposed to be a safety net, but it's currently overwhelmed with more pets coming in than necessary. PetRescue believes in keeping people and pets together wherever possible through programs such as Crisis Care Support, Home2Home, Food Donation Program, and longer-term programs and initiatives like Safe and Sound Pets to create change at a systemic level.
Where pets coming into the system is unavoidable, PetRescue’s adoption platform gives pets the best chance to find a home. With over 25,000 pet lovers visiting the website each day, PetRescue.com.au connects homeless pets with someone to love them.
PetRescue TV is a project that aims to help promote rescue pets and keep pet adoption in focus. We hope it will reach a whole new audience and introduce people to pets they might not have considered before. And help people looking for pets get to know their quirky personalities and imagine what life would be like with each one.
It’s also a lot of fun! PetRescueTV will create happiness - guaranteed!
