Pets for adoption get the spotlight
Your support ensures we can continue to invest in technology that keeps the PetRescue platform accessible, secure and state-of-the-art to help pets find homes even faster. In 2021, 22 new features were added and 41 platform improvements helped streamline digital pet adoption.
One example is the redesigned video and photo uploader for member groups. We know that seeing videos of a pet in action can really help a potential adopter to fall in love quickly, so now it’s easier than ever for members to upload adorable videos of the pets in their care. As part of this improved design and usability, members can now easily add or change a photo or two. This is the start of some very exciting editing tools that are being rolled out to make things as easy as paws-sible for members to manage pet profiles.
These ‘time saving for life saving’ tools continue to help member rescue groups manage the adoption process and get pets into new homes quickly.
A massive 10,133,116 pet alerts were sent to potential adopters in 2021. This alert ensures adopters that signed up for this service are immediately notified when a new pet that matches their criteria is available for adoption, giving both pets and humans their best chance at happiness!
Pet tummies get filled
In partnership with MARS PETCARE, your support helped PetRescue coordinate food donation programs across the country with $1,576,863 worth of food reaching pets in need. These critical rescue programs are keeping homeless pets fed while rescues can redirect their resources towards vet bills and other expenses.

Thumbs up for yummy food! This load will help feed all the cats in care at Barnville Rescue Cats and the urban stray cats in their community.

Pets in need get free goodies
Happiness came in the form of goodies (including dog collars, medication and shampoo) for scores of rescue pets thanks to our pawesome partners and sponsors who collectively donated $154,440.00 worth of products to 69 rescue organisations! Rescue organisations rely on these essential donations to help allocate their resources for other vital expenses.

Pets stay out of an overloaded system
70 pets were safely rehomed as part of PetRescue’s Home2Home program. This brings it to a total of 100 pets since the start of the Home2Home program! Trialled in 2020, Home2Home is a rehoming service for pet owners that provides a stress-free and safe alternative to surrendering their pets. In 2021, your support helped expand this program.
