NSW & ACT organisations receive 53 pallets of pet food donations just in time for Pet Dental Month!
Plenty of dogs were barking with excitement and the cats were feline fabulous across NSW and ACT thanks to the generous food donations by our awesome partner Mars Petcare!
38 pet-obsessed community support organisations and PetRescue members got their share of a whopping 53 pallets of donated pet food. Worth around $265,000 and weighing roughly 91,000 kg - that's the equivalent of over 480 elephants! There was plenty of delicious food to fill empty bowls and keep tails wagging.
A large portion of the donations included GREENIES dental treats. These treats were delivered to the lucky pets ahead of Pet Dental Month, which is officially recognised in August (even though every month should be pet dental health month!).
The organisations that received food and treats were:
-
Salvation Army Leeton
-
Pets in the Park Canberra
-
Pets In The Park Parramatta
-
Animal Welfare League Hawkesbury Valley Branch
-
Liberty Domestic and Family Violence Specialist service
-
DV West
-
World League Protection Animals
-
Pets in the Park Darlinghurst
-
Happy Paws Haven Inc
-
South Eastern Community Connect
This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the community, who enthusiastically offered their business location to be used as a hub for the donations to be delivered and picked up.
