Buddy finds buddies for life

When Buddy first found himself in the rescue system, it was clear that he didn’t have the best start to life. His adopter Gabby recalls,

 “He was born in NSW and somehow made it down to Victoria, but nobody knows how! He is covered in scars from head to toe, both ears have been clipped and re-shaped and there is a giant mystery scar down his entire spine. You wouldn't guess he is only a year old as he has so much mystery and experience around him already.”

Thanks to the amazing team at All 4 Paws Dog Rescue, Buddy made it out of the pound and was being fostered before Gabby found him listed on PetRescue. 

“We fell in love with him immediately, leaving the meet & greet was extremely hard not knowing if the foster family would choose us, especially when Buddy followed us to the car on our way out like "Am I coming too?". Thankfully, we got the call later that evening saying they chose us. Turns out Buddy didn't want to go back inside and kept watching the driveway after we left. We went back and brought him home three days later,” said Gabby.

And now life is different for this adorable doggo. He is loved, he is safe, and he has a family. That’s what every pet deserves. And that is the ray of hope each and every one of you brings every time you visit PetRescue. 💚 

Not only has Gabby changed Buddy’s life by adopting him, but Buddy has also had a significant impact on hers. 

“He has such a warm soul. He immediately became part of the family and comes with us wherever we go as he loves riding in the car and sticking his head out the window! He loves coming on adventures with us and meeting new people. Sometimes he is too eager to meet total strangers because he knows for sure that someone out there might want to be his new best friend and give him pats. He always keeps a smile on our face and it is hard to stay mad at him when he gives you those big goofball eyes.

“He really is a member of the family. He has brought so much happiness into our lives and we are so grateful to have found him.”

Buddy is settling in well in his new home and has captivated the hearts of his new humans. 

“He is a great comfort dog, he knows when you want to play but also knows when you need a cuddle and a nap, he is honestly happy to do whatever you want to do, just as long as he can be involved too.”
