Last week we published an article 'The big heart behind the Staffy smile' in our PetRescue newsletter. We asked people to share their bull-breed love and below are some of our favourites.
If you’ve recued a Staffy or Bully cross, we’d love you to tell us how they won your heart and help us encourage more families to consider adopting one. Share your Happy Staffy and Bully Tail on our Facebook page.
Matt (pictured with Bella)
Bella joined my family a year and a half ago from the amazing people at Save-A-Dog Scheme. When we first met her she seemed very timid, but her great personality stole our hearts and we had to take her home!
Our other staffy X immediately fell in love with Bella and has helped build her confidence around people and now they are the very best of friends! Although people are sometimes scared of Bella because she is a bull breed mix, she is very gentle and loving and will do her best to win you over!
Shannon
Shannon was adopted from the RSPCA by my parents around 12 years ago as a "fox terrier cross" but as the years have gone by it has become more and more obvious that there is a fair bit of staffy in his build and personality. He is such a sweet dog and loyal companion to my aged parents and is an excellent watchdog and protector. He especially provides comfort to my Dad, who is 93 and has some confused days.
Shannon does not get as many walks as he did, but due to my parent's failing physical health loves to come in the car and enjoys a quick walk on the beach when I have time to take him. He mixes well with my dogs when he comes to visit and is just such an all-around great doggy that I would certainly look at getting a staffy (if I had space for another dog.) He loves cats too!

Zeus getting some love
Our lovely zeus was rescued in January this year. Our customers just love coming to visit him, and he adores all the kids that come in too. So lovely to have rescued a doggie, and we're now looking for a little girl to also share in our love...

Frankie
It's so sad the way so many people in the street pull their children and even their dogs away because they think Frankie looks scary. Can't they see her tail is either wagging her entire body, wanting to say hello?
Everyone who knows her knows that she is the biggest, gentlest sook in the world.

Honey
Thank you for the article 'The big heart behind the Staffy smile', it was fantastic!! My partner and I adopted a Stafford from Stafford Rescue Victoria in Jan this year, and we love her so much. Who can resist such a beautiful smile!

Mini Moo, Ouzo and friend
Our beautiful staffy x bully, Ouzo, that we saved from a dog refuge. The most gentle loving, kids loving and loyal nature. Pictured here with his best friend Mini Moo, who we also saved. Couldn't be happier.

Rosie
This is our Gorgeous Rosie. Staffy x miniature bull terrier, rescued by foster carer Susan, then adopted by us some 2 years ago. This joyous, happy intelligent, fit, loyal contented girl is an absolutely integral part of our family. She is exercised every day and has many dog beds in our house (as well as our bed!)
She loves our kelpie x bullterrier Darcy, and British shorthair cat Tommy. These dogs are fantastic, and our shelters should not be full of them - if you rescue one, you will have a friend for life.
