About Cayenne
***DECEMBER SPECIAL - ADOPT 2 FOR $200***
DOB : 24/12/22
Vet work status: Complete
Snuggle scope: Sweet little Cayenne is a very timid little girl. However, once time and patience have helped you gain her trust, little Cay-cay will come to you for a pat and even maybe steal a little lap time.
Cat scope: Likely as a result of growing up around social cats in foster care, Cayenne and her siblings really appreciate (and NEED) the company of other cats. They all love to snuggle and play together, and love sharing grooming time.
Dog scope: Cayenne and siblings have gotten used to their carer's friendly cocker spaniel, but they prefer to keep their distance and mind their own business. They would be ok with a quiet, friendly dog who doesn't pay them much attention.
Child scope: Cayenne, is shy of anyone that is loud and high energy. As such, she would be better suited to a home without young children.
Quirks: Gets hangry at mealtimes and expresses it towards her siblings LOL
Booster Due: 2024
ABOUT:
This gorgeous little “house pather” and her siblings were a surprise gift to their rescuer last Christmas Eve. Their mother beautiful tabby mother Saffron was part of a small colony doing it tough in the bush. A few short weeks following her rescue, sacred little Saffron welcomed her 6 precious little "herbs and spices into the world:" Cayenne, Cassia, Chicory, Cinnamon (adopted), Basil, and Pepper, Thankfully, Saffron was an excellent mumma, and took very good care of her babies. However, as Saffron and never had any experience with humans before, she was fiercely protective, making care a little tricky for her rescuer. Understandably, all of these babies picked up on their mother’s social anxieties and general distrust of humans and were all themselves little scared little spitfires upon transfer to our care at 6 weeks old.
It is amazing what a a difference a little patience, love, and safety can do for little scardy cats. Over the space of only about 2 months, Cayenne and her siblings transformed in to confident, happy little house panthers! Another thing that really benefited these dear little ones was their association with the other cats in the household. Cayenne in particular has drawn a lot of confidence from her calm, loving feline "aunties and uncles" in the house. She has constantly looked them for guidance and comfort. From them she has learned that humans are not only good for food, but also give really good scratches, are super fun, and make really great snuggle buddies on a cold night :).
Cayenne has the softest nature of her family, and is the most shy on meeting new people. As such, her ideal home is with someone who can provide her lots of patience, understanding and love so she can adjust to her new environment at her own pace. Also, as she draws so much comfort from the presence of other cats, she will do best with either one of her siblings or mumma as a companion, or an older friendly cat. Being that she has never set foot outside, she will also need a strictly indoor only home with plenty of toys and other creature comforts fit for any kitty princess.
If Cayenne sounds like the ideal companion for you, please contact us to arrange a meet and greet.
Medical notes
Whilst very healthy, Cayenne and her family have shown intolerance to certain foods, particularly fish. As such, we recommend a high quality diet of super premium or raw food, and avoid any fish products.
