About Smithers
A message from Smithers
I am the Sweet Smithers and I love affection from my humans. When I find a human I like, I make sure to show them my love with a good old lean with all of my weight. I get so excited when my humans come home. I make sure to wait for them at the door and show them my best zoomies when they arrive!
I have been living in a home for a while now and I’m now expert at being a pet! I have excellent food manners and make sure I give my humans their space while they’re eating. I have also mastered the stairs. I run up them just to show my humans how clever I am! I am a high energy boy and I get super excited when it comes to walks. I'll need some space to run around in my new home because I also love my zoomies.
I currently live with some humans and a greyhound sister—but unfortunately they can no longer look after me. I gained a lot of confidence being around my greyhound sister, so I think I’ll do great living with another dog in my new home. I’m not too fussed about the size of my dog friends—I think they’re all great!
While I absolutely love affection, I need to be left alone while in my bed. My bed is my safe space and it can be very scary if people approach me while I’m trying to relax or sleep. But when I’m up and about, don’t worry—I’ll come around for some much needed love and affection.
About Smithers
Smithers is a very sweet and loving boy who eagerly seeks out affection from his humans. He really enjoys the company of his humans and seeks them out around the house for cuts and cuddles. He is a playful boy that loves to have a round of zoomies to celebrate his humans returning home and also loves to play with his toys.
Smithers has fantastic table manners and makes sure to give his humans their space while they’re eating. He is very polite when he is being fed and won’t beg for human food. Smithers has become an expert pet and is well accustomed to living in a home. He loves spending most of his time sleeping on his back with his mouth open.
Smithers will bark to alert you that he has heard a sound outside or a knock at the door. He also experiences sleep startle and resource guards his bed, so needs to be left alone while he is on his bed or sleeping/lounging in another area of the house.
Smithers can sometimes be a bit anxious when out and about in the big wide world. He will need his forever family to be patient und understanding that strange people approaching can be scary for him. Smithers will benefit from being walked in quieter areas as he continues to learn to become comfortable with being out and about. Smithers loves a good zoom about too, so a home that has a yard for him to run around in would be ideal.
We invite applications from those who can provide Smithers with a loving home and:
• The ability to walk in quiet areas until Smithers becomes more comfortable
• A home with a yard for zoomies
• A schedule where humans are home more often than not
• No cats, small animals or pocket pets
Medical notes
Smithers is currently on fluoxetine for his anxiety
