2022 ends with over $250K worth of free food delivered!
Wow - 2022 came to an exciting close with a giant $255,504 worth of food donations successfully donated to those in need across the country! That’s a lot of happy pets with full tums 😺
Thanks to the ongoing generosity of PetRescue partner Mars Petcare, 20,274kg worth of food reached homeless pets and the legends who care for them in November and December.
This gigantic food donation reached every corner of the continent - from NSW, to rural Queensland, to South Australia, down to Tassie and across to WA!
The cat-loving folk at Hills Cat Rescue in New South Wales received $102,441 worth of tasty food for their feline friends, which they shared with other rescue friends and community carers.

Up north in Queensland, the hard-working organisation Drought Angels received $14,197 worth of free food to distribute to farmers who have experienced flooding and other natural disasters. Drought Angels provides support to over 4,700 primary producers affected by all-natural disasters in over 1,300 communities across Australia, and we were overjoyed to be able to support their mission.
‘’A huge thank you to PetRescue and Mars for their amazing donation of essential dog food products. It is already making such a vital impact on primary producers who are facing the devastations of flooding and other hardships’’.

We love to see the community collaboration enabled by these food donations! $59,966 worth of food was donated to the hard-working team at Animal Welfare League Illawarra in NSW. The food was then shared with other AWL branches, Best Friends For Ever Illawarra, and other rescues and community centres.
‘’We recently received a large and very welcome donation of six pallets of food and treats from PetRescue in partnership with Mars Petcare.
With such a generous donation, we now have the absolute joy of playing Santa Claus by sharing the food supplies with other Animal Welfare League branches and a number of smaller cat rescue services on the South Coast, as well as distributing some of the items to local community centres that provide care packages for pet-owners on low incomes.
Thanks to the teams at PetRescue and Mars Petcare for making this possible and supporting vital animal rescue services in the region.’’
