About Street Cat Alliance Queensland
SCA Qld is a small team of volunteers dedicated to helping community cats in need within the Toowoomba Region and throughout Southern Queensland. We rescue cats who have found themselves homeless for whatever reason – cats in regional pounds where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to overpopulation, cats surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances, abandoned and homeless strays, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We provide shelter, medical aid, vetting, and everyday care to these cats until their forever homes are found.
Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless, abused, and abandoned cats and improve their quality of life by providing a quality foster care/rehoming program, promoting responsible pet ownership with emphasis on the importance of desexing, helping cat owners in need, assisting and working with other rescue groups, lobbying councils for subsidised and low-cost community desexing programs, and actively advocating for positive legislative and social change for cats in Queensland.
Our vision is to live in a community where no kitten is born wild on the street, and where no cat capable of living in a home is lacking one.
