About Give a Kitty a Home
"Our mission is to positively impact stray cat numbers through our community desexing and rehoming programs".
We aid in reducing backyard pet pregnancies with the main focus set on educating our community and ensuring everyone is educated about the importance of desexing and vaccinating their pets, to prevent unwanted litters and infection control.
Our last litter program aids in stopping the practices of giving away undesexed kittens 'Free to Good Home'. Often the mother cat is left undesexed allowing her to continue breedin. The FREE kittens go on to continue the Breeding Cycle just like their mother. This program ensures that all mothers and kittens are desexed, vaccinated and safely rehomed through our rescue.
We have dedicated volunteers promoting and assisting with responsible pet ownership within language diverse communities. Ensuring pets are desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. Our team of volunteers assist these individuals with vet bookings, payment and transportation. By doing this, we are significantly reducing unwanted cat pregnancies, resulting in a solution for overcrowding in our pounds and shelters.
We assist several pounds throughout Victoria, offering rescue to domestic animals that would otherwise be euthanised for being scared, or needing medical attention.
Our cat rehabilitation program is dedicated to rescuing scared, feral, aggressive cats from pound euthanasia lists. We are proud to say that we have a 100% success rate and we've never met a cat that couldn't be loved.
We believe... no animal should be euthanised just because they are scared.
We have established an affordable 'Not for Profit' Community Veterinary Clinic in Hoppers Crossing, ensuring vet care, desexing and vaccination is affordable to everyone. This is crucial to the success of our mission, in ensuring the breeding cycle stops for hundreds of thousands of domestic and stray cats.
