About Red
If you are interested in Red, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/3bTG6XWQv49RPxJV6
Meet Red, a sweet and gentle soul ready to add warmth and love to his new home. Red prefers a life in a home that offers him a lovely garden where he can stretch his legs and soak up the atmosphere, all without straying too far from his comfort zone in the beginning.
Red would be perfectly suited to a household with another greyhound, as he is living it up in foster care with 4 other greyhound siblings and one other foster greyhound - they all get along so well. (Kevin is his foster buddy, just in case you are looking for a double deal ;)
Red is a bit shy and can be anxious in new environments or situations outside of his known home. With patience, consistent guidance, and a little time, he opens up beautifully and if he has a canine buddy with him he immediately feels more confident in the scary outside world.
Once Red warms up to his new surroundings, he becomes a different dog entirely, displaying a strong affinity for cuddles and being utterly affectionate to his loved humans. He loves throwing around his toys and you would never think this guy is timid or anxious!
Worthy of note is Red's well-mannered behavior with no resource guarding or sleep-startle reactions. He's been found to be decent on the lead, particularly when accompanied by another greyhound. His toilet training is progressing well and will continue to improve with regular routine.
Red has demonstrated a preference for quieter dogs as he doesn't seem to particularly enjoy the company of loud barkers.
Wrap him in a reassuring blanket of love and Red will return the sentiment a thousand fold. He's affectionate, low-maintenance and eager to find that special family to start his new chapter with.
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
