About Parker
Meet Parker, a calm, comfort-loving canine. This senior gentleman is the embodiment of a relaxed lifestyle. Those seeking a low-energy pet would find a perfect companion in Parker, as he doesn't require excessive exercise and easily settles into home life.
Parker has a playful charm. Even at his advanced age, he exhibits an amusing trait; he acts as your “living doorbell.” Always alert and attentive, Parker will let you know if there's someone at the door, adding a touch of security to your household.
Despite his cautious nature around new faces, Parker warms up quickly once he gets comfortable. It's not that he’s unfriendly; he's just discerning of individuals around him. A treat or two and some reassuring words typically help him accept new friends and forever leave a lasting, positive impression.
Fondest among Parker's attributes is his sociability with other dogs, so a home with another dog could be a perfect fit. These interactions invigorate this old boy, adding laughter and bounce to his days.
However, it's essential to remember that Parker, like any other dog, needs his alone time after a long, playful day at home. After a balanced day of interactions, it's crucial to give our dear Parker a peaceful, calm environment for his much-needed rest.
In conclusion, Parker is looking for a family that appreciates the quiet joy and deep bonding that a senior dog brings. He's ready to meet you and start building a beautiful friendship rooted in trust and mutual respect. One look into Parker's wise and gentle eyes, and you'll know you’ve found a loyal, loving companion.
Adoption details
Regardless of the breed of animal you are looking to adopt, our adoption process is the same.
The first step of the process involves submitting an adoption application form. The form helps us understand a little bit more about you and your household and is used to figure out whether animal is the right fit for your household and what you are looking for, and also if your household is the right fit for the animal.
After a review process, shortlisted applicants will be contacted by one of our volunteer adoption coordinators usually by phone call or message. This is an informal conversation to discuss any questions we may have about the application and re-confirm any information provided. It is usually at at this point that we will organise a Meet & Greet with you and the animal.
It is a Strong Heart’s adoption policy to arrange a Meet & Greet with the prospective family and the animal before finalising the adoption. The Meet & Greet will allow the opportunity to visit the animal and have a pat and a play with them. The foster carer will tell you a bit about the animal's personality and what they have been like for the time they’ve been in their care. It is a great opportunity to ask the carer about the animals food, sleeping and any other health requirements.
If the Meet & Greet goes well on the day, in most cases you will be able to take the animal home straight away after payment of the adoption fee. All necessary paperwork including vet work history and transfer of ownership information will be sent via email within a few days unless otherwise specified.
