Meet Smokey Cody! This charming Poodle cross boasts a unique personality that combines striking intelligence and a yearning for companionship. As a 12 year-old male with a light build of just 5kg, Smokey Cody is the epitome of a small, lovable, well-groomed canine friend.
Smokey Cody loves social interactions where he always manages to become the star. His dog-friendly nature, combined with a very approachable personality, makes him great for homes with other pets. While he is yet to be tested around cats, his sociable character hints he'd be a fitting friend for any feline friends too.
When it comes to children, Smokey Cody exhibits a well-mannered demeanor that makes him a good fit for a home with older kids. His calm and collected behaviour makes him an easy-going option for families looking to introduce their first pet.
He does not like to be left alone, so a home with constant company is best.
While he thrives in a loving indoor environment, having a backyard with a normal, secure fence would be ideal for his daily dose of playtime. Smokey Cody's adventurous spirit gets him excited about a good run around the garden or a leisurely walk around his neighbourhood.
Smokey Cody comes fully trained in terms of home manners and has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and wormed. He's neatly groomed - perfectly exemplifying the Poodle breed's sophistication and elegance, without losing the playful, friendly nature all dogs are known for.
He’s just had his teeth cleaned and a couple of extractions, so he’s in great health.
If you're located in or around Birkdale and looking to add a new furry friend to your family, Smokey Cody could be just the dog you're searching for. So why not open your home and your heart to this adorable poodle cross who is ready and waiting to become a cherished addition to your family.

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee. This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
