About Benji
Meet Benji. This lovely boy is typical Pomeranian through and through. He loves to play and go for walks and is still bouncy as he’s only 2 1/2 years old. Benji is an easy dog in many ways, he does not have separation anxiety and is not much of a barker.
Benji does have typical Pom behaviours and can guard his toys and treats and can be a bit snappy if really challenged. If you are experienced with this breed you will understand that he is not a bad dog, he is just a typical Pomeranian.
Benji is looking for a foster carer or permanent home to call his own. He has lived in an apartment but would really enjoy a yard as well. He is toilet trained and has lived with humans that worked away from the home part time.
He has never learned how to play and interact with other dogs properly and will bark at other dogs at the park ( not aggressively, but more annoyingly) and on lead too as well as pull. This will resolve with dedicated training so his new home will need to be ready for that. Benji is a young and very energetic dog. He needs a home where he will receive attention, training and enrichment. He will also need regular daily walks and, when trained, off lead fun and run time at the park or beach.
He has been an only dog so far, if there is another dog in the home they need to be gentle in nature. Cat suitability is unknown. He has a long coat that will require grooming. Benji weighs around 5kg.
Benji is best suited to a home without small children for obvious reasons and owners with experience with Poms or their behaviours would be ideal.
Adoption details
Animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and on heartworm prevention / and also FIV tested for cats where possible. They are not available for adoption outside NSW (except ACT). Please email par.adoptions@gmail.com if you would like further information.
Dogs and cats are rehomed on two weeks trial to ensure that both the person adopting them and the rescuer are satisfied that the dog / cat / animal is happy and adapting well to their new home and this can be extended on request
Please be aware that Paws and Recover is run by volunteers who also work. We endeavour to answer enquires as quickly as possible. Some animals will inevitably be very popular and will generate many enquires. Where there is a high volume of enquires received, it will be our priority to contact those that best fit the requirements of the animal. This may mean that it is not possible for all enquires to be answered. Please keep an eye on the website for all updates.
Providing quality information as a part of your enquiry including information about your home environment, family, work hours, other pets and what you are looking for in a companion animal along with what you can offer one will greatly assist.
Please always provide a contact phone number as a part of your enquiry.
