About Febbie πΌπ»π·
Meet Febbie β a little lady looking for a cozy retirement pad!
This golden oldie found herself at the pound after her elderly owner crossed the rainbow bridge. After a couple of weeks in the shelter, it was crystal clear that Febbie wasn't exactly living her best life there. So, we rescued her to help her find a new place to fit in.
When we picked up Febbie, it was like she was wearing her heart on her furry sleeve. She'd been through the wringer, losing her human and her home, which understandably caused her some stress. But with some good ol' tender loving care, she's now ready to kick back in a new spot with some awesome company for her twilight years.
Febbie's a brave soul who settles in like she's been part of the furniture forever. She's all about the smooches, and you'll find her chilling on the couch or bed next to you or posted up in front of a sunny window, keeping tabs on the world outside. And while she may look like she's asking for a tummy rub when she flops on her back, trust us β that's a hiss and swat waiting to happen (lovingly, of course).
Febbie's dream home is an indoor-only, chill spot with a human or two to keep her company. She's not the biggest fan of other cats, but if you've got a mature feline who knows how to read the room, they would coexist beautifully.
Health-wise, Febbie aced her check-up, but it's important to note older cats are likely to need more frequent vet visits to ensure they stay in tip top shape.
Think Febbie could be the companion for you? She's a quick enquiry away.
Medical notes
Due to a nationwide shortage of Feline F3 vaccines, Febbie has only received one of these crucial immunisations before adoption and is now overdue for their booster. This vaccine guards against Feline Panleukopenia, Feline Herpesvirus, and Feline Calicivirus.
For details and further information you will be provided with a vaccination waiver. Feel free to discuss with our Adoption Coordinator during the adoption process.
Adoption details
Regardless of the breed of animal you are looking to adopt, our adoption process is the same.
The first step of the process involves submitting an adoption application form. The form helps us understand a little bit more about you and your household and is used to figure out whether animal is the right fit for your household and what you are looking for, and also if your household is the right fit for the animal.
After a review process, shortlisted applicants will be contacted by one of our volunteer adoption coordinators usually by phone call or message. This is an informal conversation to discuss any questions we may have about the application and re-confirm any information provided. It is usually at at this point that we will organise a Meet & Greet with you and the animal.
It is a Strong Heartβs adoption policy to arrange a Meet & Greet with the prospective family and the animal before finalising the adoption. The Meet & Greet will allow the opportunity to visit the animal and have a pat and a play with them. The foster carer will tell you a bit about the animal's personality and what they have been like for the time theyβve been in their care. It is a great opportunity to ask the carer about the animals food, sleeping and any other health requirements.
If the Meet & Greet goes well on the day, in most cases you will be able to take the animal home straight away after payment of the adoption fee. All necessary paperwork including vet work history and transfer of ownership information will be sent via email within a few days unless otherwise specified.
